Neechi nazaron se hume na dekho varna

afsaana hamara likhenge log

jab hum tum na rahenge iss jahan mein

hum dono ke nishaa dhoondhenge log

Ghar baithe dekhenge bagh e baharon ko jab

tere naam ka phool dhoondhenge log

Jab dastan hamari tumhari sunenge log

bheega apnaa daaman paayenge log

Kayi akkso mein taqseem hone ke bawjood

nigaahon mein meri tumhe dhoondhenge log

English Translation

Do not look at me with your shy drooping eyes, 
there are many ready to pen our bewitching tale
Also many to hunt for our lingering trail
after I and you had bade this world for good!

When they would see the spring in full splurge
they would hunt for a flower named in your memory

When people will listen to our tale tragic
they would find their eyes soaked in salt

Even after splitting into many myriad halves
yet people would hunt you in my eyes
