Poem By B D Narayankar
Everything goes on, exactly as it used to
When you were there
The koyal croons, alerting about
the impending mango season
The melting snow still flows
to wash the feet of the hills
All summers the gulmohar stands nude,
shedding leaves
Everything goes on, exactly as it used to
When you were there
I wish after you had left
something would have changed in my life
That I would not feel lonely
That my heart stops beating
That thoughts no longer fly
Nor verses ooze out from the pen
But, everything goes on as before
If only, there is only one change in my life
That I cannot sleep at nights
Unless I grope for words silken
To stitch poems in your memory, daily
